Welcome to the MCS! Thank you for joining us, we are glad you are here!
Here at MCS we have amazing resources to utilize to help with your experience in navigating your laptop and much more. Below you will find articles that the information support department (ISD for short) we think will be helpful to reference. If you have any questions regarding your information technology needs, need help with your laptop or other Information Technology needs, or if your laptop is having issues, you can always reach out to us (see submitting tickets for more information). Once again, we are so glad you are here!
Important information:
Call us Kill Joys, or be overly concerned, however, due to privacy concerns and the safety of our students, we do not allow Smart Speakers (ie Google Nest, Echo, or Apple Home speakers) in our classrooms. We would have to have each student's parents sign a waiver to allow these devices in the classrooms. These devices passively record audio and can or could record the voices of our students.
Setting up Microsoft Authenticator:
Due to insurance policies, and to help better secure your MCS account, we are requiring all staff to have Microsoft Authenticator. Please follow the article below for setting up Microsoft Authenticator.
We are aware that some Teachers do not have a Smartphone (apple or Android devices (ie Samsung, Google, OnePlus phones)) if you do not have a smartphone, please contact support@cwc.life to set up your cellphone to receive a text message when you login for the first time to your account.
Reporting Spam/Fishing e-mails:
We get it, we hate spam and Phishing attempts as much as you do (that pesky Nigerian prince keeps on contacting us about inheritance!) To report e-mails please follow the articles below:
- Reporting Suspicious emails via IronScales - Outlook Web
- Reporting Suspicious e-mail via IronScales - Outlook App Windows
- Reporting Suspicious emails via IronScales - Outlook Mobile (Android and iPhone)
Adding A calendar for Microsoft Outlook:
Sometimes calendars are shared department-wide. If you need to add a shared calendar, please follow the steps found in this knowledge base article:
Using OneDrive:
We utilize Microsoft OneDrive for file storage across all of our devices to backup files and allow staff to access them anywhere, both on and off campus. To understand how to login to OneDrive fplease see the article below:
Printing:
MCS utilizes Printix to allow Staff to print to our Printers on our network. To set up Printix please follow the steps located in the article below:
SMARTBoards:
Each of our classrooms utilizes a SMARTBoard display to help teachers with interactive activities, display their laptop’s display, and so forth. With some of our laptops, teachers were reporting that the display was not showing on their SMARTboard. The article below will show you how to apply a fix to that issue:
- Changing refresh rate for MX series Smart Boards
- Please be aware that classrooms have different models of SMARTboards, and may not match what is shown in the Knowledge Base article.
Submitting tickets:
If you are having issues with your laptop, Information Technology needs, or your laptop is having issues please feel free to follow any of the steps below. Please give ISD as much information as possible, submitting “my device isn’t working” does not help us and causes us to stress (we are humans after all!). Sometimes restarting your device also resolves the issues as well (We are aware that this sounds clique, as the kids would say “don’t at us”).
To submit a ticket please follow the steps on the following knowledge base articles:
- Submitting ticket via Support Center Portal
- Submitting and Replying to a Ticket Via Microsoft Teams
- Submitting and Replying to a ticket via Teams - Mobile (Apple and Android)
