Accessing Notification Settings

Changing Quiet Time Settings
Quiet Times can be used to disable notifications during specific times. There are options to set full days and options for specific hours of the day. For example, you can set quiet times to be from 6 pm at night until 8 am in the morning throughout the work week and then also set Saturday and Sunday as quiet days. You are also able to allow certain notifications to come through even during these quiet times. With all staff communication coming through Teams, it will be important to allow messages marked as important to be delivered during Quiet Time. We will show you how to do that below.
Please Note: Quiet time settings only apply to your mobile device.
To access quiet time settings, tap on the "During quiet time" option.
To change the daily quiet hours, tap on either the start or end options and use the clock to select the respective times. If you want to disable daily quiet time, tap on the slider to the right of "Daily quiet hours."
Please note: If you do not see "Start" and "End" buttons, tap on the slider to the right of "Daily quiet hours."
To change the weekly quiet days, simply tap on each day you wish to add. A checkmark will appear next to each day selected. If you want to disable weekly quiet days, tap on the slider to the right of "Quiet days."
Please note: If you do not see days of the week, tap on the slider to the right of "Quiet days."
Even during quiet times, you can still allow some notifications to come through. These include incoming calls, messages marked by the sender as important, specific mentions to you, and badge counts. To enable or disable each of them, tap on the slider to the right of each option.
Important: To receive important staff notifications during quite time such as weather-related announcements, please toggle on the "Important messages" toggle.
Note: Badge counts refer to the number next to the icon on your home screen (iOS) or the dot next to the icon on your home screen (Android).
Managing All Notifications
Microsoft Teams also has an option to choose what types of notifications come through on your phone. To access these options, follow the Accessing Notification Settings instructions and then tap on "General Activity." This menu will give you access to several different sliders, including ones that enable/disable notifications from calls, channels, chats, and even all notifications from Microsoft Teams. To enable/disable an option, simply click on the slider to the right. Additionally, this menu can give you some statistics about how many notifications you get from each category.
